ah yeah catatonia is interesting! its definitely something that could have been a chapter name candidate. i don't think i would label the arsonist's reaction to the attack quite as that, though—she went into physical shock and if left alone probably would have died of a combination of blood loss, apnea, and damage to her brain in about five minutes. once medic got her on the healgun, she recovered enough but was still so traumatized that she regressed into the "pyroland" state so she wouldn't have to deal with it.

i had a character with catatonic schizophrenia for a while, though. THAT'S a syndrome you never hear about, really fascinating.

pssshh it's totally not just a weapon. despite the fact that it has a function where you pull a cord and it SPINS LIKE A DRILL AT SPEEDS THAT WILL DISEMBOWEL SOMEONE
