Ⓢ➑➌-➋ Ξ                 her eyes were closed, her body ached, & her memory was                 hazy. flashes of light crossed her mind while being brutally                 thrown back onto the ground instinctually contracted each                 & every muscle in her body.     sue’s eyes flickered back &                 forth until they shot open& a gulf of air filled her panicked                  breaths. she was laying on a soft grey mattress & was in                  an  U N K N O W N  room. where was she? what had hap-                 pened? & where was JOHNNY, ben, & reed? 

                frantically glancing, scanning her surroundings for any signs                 of life, she shouted, “ HEY!! ” but to no answer. there were o-                 nly a few monitors online which lights flicked behind the glass                 window. tilting her head to the side in confusion, sue ripped                  off the wires that were taped to her body & made her way                  towards the clear reflective glass, but the person that looked                 back at her kept phasing in & out of the visible spectrum.                  what had happened to her? 

                PANIC stricken, adrenaline raced through her veins as it be-                 came harder & harder for her to breath. caramel orbs faltered                 to her hands as she witnessed herself disappearing & reapp-                 earing within seconds. 

                “ OH my  G O D! ”

fiVE TIMES KISSED

FIVE TIMES DIXON ROGERS KISSED REED RICHARDS

one.  friday starts with a bang.  fluorescent lights offer migraines and false memories of school-time like gifts.  open, throw away, open –  and there’s reed.  he’s smart.  smart enough to keep up with you.  smart enough to keep his distance.  and yet you’re drawn to him.  he’ll be a very important man in his time, you think.  you know.  the lines tend to blur.  a kiss is pressed to his cheek, a quiet thank you muttered.  for what ?  he asks.  the words believing me go unspoken.  you go home to an empty apartment. 

two.  there’s late night pizza, then greasy hands intertwined like rope.  his palms sweat.  you smile.  it’s an odd feeling, being around him.  like electricity in the air.  buzz, buzz – my parents, you say, i grew up, you say.  both are half-lies, half-told.  it’s not your first time.  this is where your lips meet.  the electricity no longer hangs between you, but collides.  he starts a fire out of dying embers, a spark out of a dead plug.  

three.  you didn’t think it’d start like this, his hands all over you after a long day at work.  it’s quick and rough and dirty, the sparks going off and off and off.  you want to bury yourself in him.  in his heart.  in his guts, his deep down.  your lips connect with his over and over and over, through the night and into the morning. 

four.  you don’t know how to tell him you’ve been lying.  you’ve been hiding.  under piles and piles of dirt.  you’re filthy; disgusting; waste.  you kiss him and you feel whole.  you kiss him and kiss him and kiss him until the words form themselves.  i’m not who i say i am.  you expect him to understand. you want – 

five.  he does, but he doesn’t.  that’s what it comes down to.  you worry about becoming an experiment to him; some kind of alien.  science is his passion.  you’re just another great big mystery.  promise me, you say.  you repeat it again and again.  promise me.  he kisses you to prove it, but the words don’t leave his mouth.  you believe him.

               It is anything but kind, && it is anything but understanding. It was an emotional force of pent up emotions that has aged for decades like a bitter wine. Because there is nothing FINE about this God forsaken creature, nothing fancy or desirable about this creature made up of unhinged emotions. Unstable && unpredictable it acts with impulse && rarely thinks itself through.

               Knowledge is useless unless it is controlled.

                                                    its composure, once bent and CROOKED, had been shifted only slightly so that it may get a better look at his work. Leaving a trail of dirt && gore on the wooden surface of his desk, stepping over && on papers without so much a care of what it ruins or how much importance it all had.
