So like, it’s canon that Henry was at the battle of Normandy, and that he died during it. Now I’m not a professional geography person, but I’m pretty sure that closest body of water to Normandy beach is the ocean they landed on. So, he stormed the beach, died, and shot up out of the water stark naked.

So, what does he do? Hide until the battle is over? Try to swim away? I don’t think so. This man probably went right back onto that beach and started helping people. Drag a wounded man behind cover, boom, hit by machine gun spread. Applies a tourniquet to an amputee, boom, hit by a sniper shot. In the process of trying staunch the blood flow of a fellow soldier, boom, blown up by a mortar shell.

I’m just saying, that in the Forever universe there are definitely stories from the war about an angel taking bullets and healing wounds, who also just happened to be naked.

thinking again about the last episode of forever after henry died in abigail’s arms, knowing he would disappear and that it would be unexplainable. his despair. and abigail’s confusion when it happens, but she knows that whatever happened, he’s still gone.

and then at the end, when henry knows he has to leave, but needs to say goodbye to the son he won’t get to see grow up while trying to avoid a confrontation with abigail. and then she walks in and sees him.

he sees the shock on her face, and he loves her but he is so afraid. he wants to explain, somehow try to make it seems like nothing unusual happened. he doesn’t know if she’s going to be scared or angry or just happy to see him, but last time with nora, it still ended in heartbreak and death. even when nora realized he was telling the truth, she would rather risk people’s lives for “the greater good” than keep his secret.

and abigail, walks up to henry, the man she watched die, knowing he was just reborn, knowing he’s probably lived dozens of lives before. and she doesn’t fear him or jump for joy. she understands, and she just hugs him and says “you poor man”.

she doesn’t make it about her or about the world or about anything other than him, and she understands that eternal life is not the gift it might seem. she understands he’s been through so much more pain than anyone should ever have to endure and that he’s lost so many people and had to keep this secret locked up with no one to talk to.

and that’s what makes me cry so fucking hard at this scene. she’s not special because she’s keeping his secret or because she believes him. she’s special because she fully understands the consequences of his curse, and she decides to be there for him no matter what. fuck, man.

This poor man just cannot catch a break. Every time he dies he comes back naked and his son has to go pick him up. Sopping wet man.

He's a 234 year old immortal who *does* die and experiences everything that goes with it, but every time he does he respawns, naked, in the nearest body of water. He has no idea why

Henry is over two hundred years old, and while he *can* die, it never sticks.  His body vanishes, and he reappears in the nearest large body of water — since he currently lives in Manhattan, this usually means reappearing in the East River.  Unfortunately for Henry, his clothes and anything else on him vanish with him, but they *don't* reappear with him, which leads to some slightly awkward situations.  Henry is trying to figure out why he can't die for good, so he currently works for the Office of Chief Medical Examiner of the City of New York, which holds the largest collection of slightly chilled corpses in the world — "When your game is death, you go where the action is!"  Henry also owns an antique shop with his son, Abraham, adopted as a baby at the end of World War II and now looking twice as old as Henry.  Henry keeps a tank of Immortal Jellyfish in his hidden basement laboratory, where he records his deaths looking for clues to how he might someday be able to grow old and die like everyone else.  In the meantime, he's begun working with homicide detective Jo Martinez, who keeps trying to get him to open up and tell her more about himself, and is being stalked by a mysterious voice on the phone who calls himself Adam, sends him pictures and mementos from his long past, and claims to have the same "curse" as Henry; up until that point Henry believed he was alone in his immortality.

Every time he dies he wakes up naked in the nearest natural body of water without a scratch on him. He's experienced a lot of different ways to die in the last 200 years.

My man Henry is a 250 year old medical examiner. He’s immortal; every time he dies he reappears naked in the nearest large body of water. He’s a medical examiner with the police so he can solve murders with them and be close to death so he can figure out how to achieve growing old and dying for himself. He has a son, Abe, who he rescued as an infant from a concentration camp in WW2.. he’s such a kind warm character and so so tortured. Basically classic blorbeaux material from a show that got cancelled far too soon

He's technically immortal but he dies, like, all the time. And he's constantly coming back to life.
