Now that F&C Season 2 has ended, I was wondering: what Adventure Time episodes do you think you'd add to the list of "necessary to watch eps" you made a while back?

Excellent question! I have been agonizing over it.

Huntress’s importance means Flute spell is required, but the other 2 Huntress episodes, The Wild Hunt and 17, are probably still only suggested.

Cosmic Owl… I need to look back through the season and the required list to see what background we have on him. Could include The New Frontier since it is the Cosmic Owl introduction episode, but feels more “suggested” then “necessary”. The Cosmic Owl stuff is pretty self explanatory in my opinion.

Now to the hard part. Fern. The problem is that Fern is such complicated character, to include his story you need to like, double the current list. Like, it would require Grass blade, Prismo’s death, creation of Finnsword, destruction of Finnsword, creation of Fern, and then most of the Fern centered episodes from there on. It’s hard to justify doubling the entire list length for a single episode character. I’m leaning toward adding none since Fern’s part in the overall show is minimal. Obviously they would all still be included in suggested. As for Fennel, she is a completely different character from Fern and does not require knowing Fern’s story.

These are just off the top of my head thoughts as I haven’t had time to go through the episodes and rewatch a couple to check stuff. Let me know if you disagree with my thoughts or if I missed anything. I will be adding a more detailed list to my original post sometime soonish (next few days hopefully)

oh my god my time has come. so rise of the brave tangled dragons (rotbtd) was basically like crack-cocaine for anyone that was a tween tumblrina in the years 2010-2014 and it consisted of shoving the main characters of rise of the guardians, brave, tangled, and how to train your dragon together by any means possible and creating what i perceived as a twelve year old to be the greatest thing to happen to modern media. and i was completely correct so here's me using that excuse to draw:

Personally? I love Cyn, and I disagree with a lot of the fan interpretations of her. Am I gonna argue with those people? Hell no! They’re having fun and I want to have fun with them!

First of all, everyone should be allowed to do whatever they want with characters and anyone who decides to be a shit about it can fuck off outta the community.

Second, discourse always happens, if it wasn’t about Cyn it would’ve happened elsewhere. Can’t stop it, just gotta block the shits and move on.

Third, making it about the character instead of the people causing the issues is just gonna create a rift between you and the people who genuinely enjoy that character. And create a worse fandom experience for us all.

Moral of the story: some people suck, ignore them and spend time with people who don’t
