a build of this post because what if it didn't happen that way, what if
A man approached him at the recent Gala. He didn't recognize him, but the other man clearly knew him. They chatted about the company and how Wayne Enterprises has prospered under his leadership. The man leaves after shaking his hand, leaving behind a business card in his palm. It was all black except a purple flower mimicking an eye stared back at him. Tim forgot about the odd interaction till it spilled out of his suit pocket in his Nest. He decided to investigate the next day. Tim arrives at an odd little store in a bared part of Gotham; the man from before opens the door before Tim has even stepped out of his car. He is brought inside and past a purple tarp in the back. He stops to marvel at the hidden room of grand black marble pillars and flowers growing from the ceiling. A woman beckons him over to a small table; he should be concerned he knows he should be, but this entire place just feels so... homey. He is offered a floral-smelling tea. He speaks with the women for some time. She compliments him on Wayne Enterprises, his fashion sense, and his appearance. It was all going well until she placed a glowing green vial on the table. She tried to reassure him that she was trying to help, that he could do amazing things if he just became one of them if he became hers. (not romantically) But he still refuses. She sighed, disappointed, and he was grabbed by two men behind him. She pulls the lid out of the vial, revealing a long needle-thin dagger. She apologized as she spears his finger with it. The red of his blood disappears within the vial. The green liquid tastes like iron on his tongue. He can’t describe it; it just tastes cold. His head spins as he is picked up and cradled like a delicate thing. The chill in his heart spreads out into his fingers, painting his veins in frost and freezing his heart. The last of the air in his body leaves him in a pathetic wheeze as his lungs seize their movement. His body sinks into the soft bed of petals he's placed in. Any and all emotions quit underneath the chill. It turns from comforting to burning as his body jerks and spasms. The taste of iron fills his mouth again from his bitten tongue. Blue eyes meet the violet of the woman’s. She smiles. With a wave of her hand, the petals close around him as the chill finally pulls him under.
