Ode to anyone who keeps rediscovering Sherlock over and over again - no matter if ACD, BBC, Sherlock and Co. or any of the myriad other versions and universes ❤️
This campaign is unfolding organically as fans reconnect and imagine what might still be possible for BBC Sherlock. These are the questions we're getting most often - answers may grow or shift as the campaign does.
Got a question? Send it our way.
1. What is #Forever221b?
A show of continued support for the cast and creators of BBC Sherlock. If the story still feels unfinished to them, if there's more they want to say, we're ready to hear it.
We're not here to campaign for a specific outcome. Just to say: the door's still open, and there's an audience waiting with trust, not expectations.
2. Why now? Isn't Sherlock over?
Not officially, but recent comments from the creators have grown increasingly definitive, suggesting that the door may be closing for good. We aren't trying to pry it back open, we just want to say something before it shuts.
We know Ben, Martin, Steven, Mark, and so many others poured themselves into this work. If any part of it still feels unresolved to them, we're here to witness whatever they might want to say.
3. What kind of outcome are you hoping for?
We're not united by one desired outcome, but by a desire for truthful resolution. For many of us, that includes romantic love between Sherlock and John, because the emotional arc led us there. We won't apologize for seeing it.
However, others connected to the story through friendship, grief, loyalty, or survival - and those readings belong, too. What matters most is that, if the story ever continues, it honors what's been building beneath the surface and lets it land in the open.
4. What if I'm just here because this story meant something to me, even if I don't need more?
That's exactly why this exists, it's to remember what we had. For a while, this story brought people together in a way that felt electric. Like we weren't alone in how we saw the world, or in how we wanted to believe in love.
If being here now reignites even a spark of that feeling, then you're already part of it. And maybe that's the point.
5. How can I help?
Start by staying curious, kind, and connected.
If you feel moved, here are a few reflective ways to build momentum:
- Follow the project on X, Instagram, Tumblr: @andforever221b
- Share what this story meant to you in your own way, tagged with #forever221b
- Reblog, retweet, comment. Every gentle signal helps us stay visible, and you may even make a new friend who never stopped caring either.
- Sign the open letter (coming soon)
- Invite others who might have let go, but haven't forgotten.
If the heart of the story still beats in us, perhaps the message still stirs in those who brought it to life.
Some stories are just waiting for the right moment to speak.
