So as you may have seen, @kelseyfitzherbert met Eden the other day. But what I didn’t know was that she was going to be getting me an autograph too. 😭😭😭

She also got @forever-tangledup one, so now all of Team Awesome has Moonsandra’s autograph!!

Stocking: tag someone whose small gestures have meant a lot to you

Honestly, the first person who came to mind was @forever-tangledup again. But I want to spread the positivity and not just name the same handful of people over and over.

So I’m gonna switch it up and tag @imafastlearner. She’s one of my best friends from my earlier days of RPing on Tumblr, and she’s always been so quick to show caring and generosity to me. I miss our Disneyland trips, Tara!

I began this piece in July of 2018. And then, somewhere along the lines, I screwed it up really bad. I mean really bad. Half-colored, I flattened the file to save as a WIP, then closed the program, forgetting to unflatten and resave the PSD first. I was so sure that I’d completely ruined it, I almost gave up on it entirely, and I’d already been struggling with it.

But here we are, a week from the end of the s2 hiatus, and I finally got the inspiration to finish it.

So, fun little fact to all you listeners old and new, Tangled Talk is one year old today!

Honestly, when @forever-tangledup and @kelseyfitzherbert and I started kicking around the idea of doing a podcast, I figured it would do about as well as I assumed this blog would do - which is to say, it would have a small handful of loyal fans and not much more. I couldn’t do it without these two. I wouldn’t have the motivation.

But even though we would do it without listeners, it would be much more like screaming into the void and much less like having a conversation with the Tangled community. So thank you all for tuning in and sharing in the fun. Sorry for the delay on the most recent episode, but good news! We recorded it last night. So that will likely be up tonight or tomorrow. (Tomorrow is more likely.)

I noticed that you have a lot of guests on the show and I was wondering how you get in contact with the cast/crew members. Do you message them on twitter or do they read your blog. I'm curious

When the show was first announced, the first crew member to poke his head on Tumblr was Stephen Sandoval @artistssandoval and I started talking to him. But then Kait Ritter @kritterart started talking here, and then Chris Sonnenburg @cnotes got his blog here. I took a deep breath and squashed down my trepidation and said hi. So I actually started talking to those three before the series began.

Ricky Roxburgh, @forever-tangledup and I met at D23 Expo in 2017 and that was the first time we really became aware of who he is, but we became fast friends. I’ve talked to a few others via Tumblr, Instagram or Twitter, and I follow as many as I find on the platforms.

And yes, apparently many of the crew do or have read my blog. This includes animators at Mercury Filmworks. (Hi, guys! *wave wave!*)

But for the crew we don’t know well, we can all thank @kelseyfitzherbert for being our PR reach out and talking to folks, asking if they want to be on the show!

We have more guests lined up both during the hiatus and going into S3, and I’m really excited about that! Thanks for listening, and stay tuned! ♥

Finally, my birthday/Christmas present for @forever-tangledup is revealed!

I first conceived of making her a set of Christmas ornaments when Tangled the Series first aired in March 2017. Originally, I thought they were all going to be little felt plush guys. But literally days before I started work on it, I came up with this idea, instead.

Each picture has been wood burned onto a birch disc, then painted with a diluted acrylic paint and water solution to give it a stained effect. (They were all still damp when I took the photos of them flat on my table.) I screwed in the eye screws by hand, then added the snow detail on the top.

It was an exceptionally fun project, and I more than happy to have treated one of my best friends to this effort of love. Happy birthday, Ellie, and Merry Christmas! ♥
