Did you ever come across a song that is infused with a sense of joy and fun (although there's a sense it might be calculated and manufactured) while also being...how to put it...dumb? I mean, you might feel inclined to jump around and dance but you feel slightly embarrassed for the indulgence given the source? Perhaps it's just me. The Forgotten Rebels are a band I've never listened to until yesterday and my overall impression is that the body of their work is pretty mediocre (at best). I like this song though. It's stupid, and sexist (in that male "rock and roll" way so many songs like this are) but pleasurable. You'll listen to it, maybe dig it in the moment, and then it will recede into memory, "forgotten." Pun intended. Later edit: I neglected to mention (thanks to @postpunkindustrial for the reminder) that this song is a Gary Glitter cover. But, the actual reason for this addendum is that I was watching some videos of Gary Glitter and in this appearance in 1973 at Top of the Pops, Gary looks like Bill Hader playing the role of a 70s glam rocker. The resemblances are strong enough for me NOT to see Hader's facial features jumping out at me. Someone out there tell me I'm crazy.
