@forhapning said: 🛑 stop [merida] from doing something reckless :>
(the options were endless here, when isn’t she reckless?? lol)
“Oi, you ain’t my queen. You can’t order me about.” The words themselves were harsh, but her tone and the pout of her lips showed petulance instead. Still, she slowed to a stop, almost stumbling in the snow, but making a pretty good recovery, if she did say so herself. Her mother would have her head if she risked growing diplomatic relations by being stubborn.
Sometimes it snowed in the Highlands, but it rained far too much for it to ever really freeze over. Arendelle, as such, was a rare delight. She had always preferred the cold weather to the hot weather, found it more comfortable when she didn’t have to unpaste her curls from her head. But this? This was something else.
It was freezing, but she’d something marvelous this morning. It had been a couple, out on the water, spinning and twirling round one another, dancing. She had half a thought they were some sort of water fae or spirit, hovering above the water.and dancing on the waves.
Until she had gotten down stairs to investigate herself, that was. While the couple was gone, the water still existed, but it was frozen solid. They hadn’t been wetting their toes, they’d simply been sliding about on the ice, ever so graceful and having such fun.
She didn’t see why she couldn’t try the same.
“I’ve seen the people on the lake. I know your people dance on the ice. I’ve seen it.” Merida pointed out, crossing her arms over her chest and blowing her hair out of her face. She paused, relaxing her stance and considering that perhaps she was being rude or offensive and didn’t even realize it, “...is it something religious? Or a ceremony of some sort? It didn’t look like it, but I admit I don’t know a lot about your culture, so I apologize if so.”
