Bloodborne/Twilight Crossover Idea

Somehow came up with the utterly most insane idea for a WIP to date.

It started off tame at first. The basic premise is a series where there would be a fic each for a character from a fandom whom would be dumped into Yharnam; whether transported there via a dream or just at the wrong place & time & just within arms reach of one of the invisible eldritch spider bastards (an Amygdala) chilling about.

And I thought it would be a rather cool idea to explore while utilising Yharnam as a sort of “pocket dimension/dream-nightmare where time within it is inconsequential for the character/s trapped inside” (so they could be within Yharnam for more than a year while their original world has only experienced night pass to morning by the time they return, or just a couple of months while missing due to the Amygdala displacing them for shits and giggles) and the additional feat that since it is within a dream it wouldn’t matter that the character is from a present time rather than Yharnam’s late-1800s aesthetic since dreams do not ascribe to time and space in this scenario. I would solely focus on my interpretation of Bloodborne’s story as to not disrupt anyone else’s most common one, while also following how I usually beat the game nowadays.

Essentially these characters get put into Yharnam due to just the worst goddamn luck rather than anything cosmically deliberate, and while in Yharnam they are forced to change (for better or worse… shrugs, it’ll certainly be an experience). And after going through the worst form of therapy and additional trauma that outdoes any prior experiences, they return to their original world a changed person and we deal with the consequences of that in their original world’s plot.

Anyway, so the craziest part about all this is the fact I plan to start with Stephanie Myer’s Twilight saga, and dumping an unfortunate Bella Swann into the bloody violence of Yharnam. Like Twilight’s world is honest to god both insane and severely underdeveloped, BUT I think it would be interesting combining the two (in a way). Bella goes through Yharnam, forced to change herself through the experiences, and then fight her way back to her reality/Forks to pretend that she didn’t absolutely ascend to godhood in another world and is no longer technically human in her own + keep the fact she’s changed drastically under wraps and grounded closer to what’s reasonably accepted. A Hunter!Bella (who is also kind of a Great One too) just trying to live and enjoy her “normal human life” with whatever time she has left with her human friends and family (since being an ascended Great One in disguise makes her very painfully aware she’ll outlive pretty much every human in her life) while dealing with the supernatural shenanigans of the Cullens and Wolf Pack.

Of course I have more to say about this but I’ll share more later.

So… how does Bella get to Yharnam? Well I have about three solutions:

First Scenario: “The Night Before…” -> Essentially before the day she would go to Forks and see her dad again, Bella would go to bed… and then wake up at the Blood Minister’s yapping in Yharnam. This Bella hasn’t met the Cullens or the supernatural in Forks yet, bear in mind, so when Bella exits the dream and goes to Forks, she’ll be trying to do her best in hiding the fact that she isn’t an ordinary human, especially once she realises the Cullens are no humans themselves. Another thing is that between the time Bella goes to sleep and when she wakes up in the morning, Alice’s visions in regard to Bella would be blocked within that time frame (either by the Moon Presence or Formless Oedon).

Second Scenario: “Comatose” -> So, here this would be set around the time from when Edward and the Cullens left Bella in Forks for the six months-to-a-year(?). James is dead at this point so no worries about him. Now how’d this would go is that Bella would either be injured by Victoria and Bella would fall “comatose” from the attack (re: Moon Presence takes her consciousness to Yharnam) or Bella just collapses and falls unconscious close to someone/people she knows and is taken to the hospital (Oedon just went “I’m gonna take this teen to Yharnam to kill my rival, the moon goddess”). Charlie obviously would be having a hard time since his daughter is hospitalised in a coma that cannot be explained, and both her friends and Jacob are also pretty worried too. The coma would last between a long period of weeks to a few months, and undetermined if the Cullens would return at this point (if only out of Edward’s concern for Bella).

Final Scenario: “Wrong Place, Wrong Time, Just Within Arms Reach” -> Here it would be set also within the six months/year that the Cullens ditched Bella, and here she’d be having her growing bond with Jacob. While Jacob and Bella were out and about, Victoria makes her strike against Bella, but is interrupted by Jacob’s presence as he combats her. While the shifter and vampire duke it out, Bella tries to make distance, just so happening to step within the sights of a chilling Amygdala (likely responsible for multiple disappearances around the area) who just hangs about undisturbed & invisible to the insightless humans, and once it notices Bella is just within arms reach, it goes to itself ‘oh look, one of those fleshy creatures, now I can alleviate my boredom’ and just picks up an unsuspecting Bella who is now in the air(??) and painfully gets vortexes out of this world, something that Victoria and Jacob notice but are too late to stop (Jacob because he cares for Bella and Victoria since she can’t avenge her loser boyfriend), and causes Victoria to retreat while Jacob is distraught. While Bella is in Yharnam, she is declared MISSING in Forks, for several months, with Charlie rounding up search parties while Jacob gets his fellow wolves to help him search for his bestie/crush. This would last for a few longer months than scenario two. Maybe the Cullens return just to help search for Bella (mostly for Edward’s sanity than anything else).

Now just to let y’all know that I’ll be pairing Bella with Alice cause I’m queer and need sapphic enrichment. And am interested in tackling THAT particular relationship in this turn of events. Don’t worry, Edward and Jacob will be getting the spotlight too in regard to their importance in Bella’s life and how they fit in this new Bella’s dynamic.

Now I also have three AUs in which Bella’s return and subsequent story happens while back in Forks.

AU #1 is the “Solo” AU -> Bella returns from Yharnam by herself and just endures the hijinks of the plot while being a Great One/Hunter in disguise. Applies to all three scenarios, her relationship differing with the Cullens dependent if she hasn’t met them like in Scenario 1 or was previously ditched by them in Scenarios 2 & 3.

AU #2 is the “Jolly Reunions” AU -> Bella returns from Yharnam alone at first, but eventually finds that both friends and foes, whether they were previously alive or deceased, managed to follow her home (maybe due to an accidental inexperience with her own Great One nature releasing the souls from the dream’s contract and uncontrollably conjuring them back alive to her reality). Applies to all three scenarios, consequences include Valtr coming to kick Jasper’s ass, Bella’s little family gradually growing with people she knew and liked in Yharnam, Micolash and Annalise unfortunately worming their way into the royal vampire mafia’s ranks (to start a coup over Aro’s position of power), and the Blood Moon Event leading to Carlie’s (this version of Renesmee) creation.

And finally AU #3 is “Jolly Cooperation in going to the hospital together” -> Which is a slightly happier AU where most of the civilians and Hunters in Yharnam survived alongside Bella and upon being spit into Bella’s reality, rush a wounded Bella to the nearest hospital for much needed medical attention for her and some of their own. Only applicable to Scenario 3, and Charlie suddenly finds that his daughter is like adopted by this group of strangely out of place people with even stranger mannerisms who managed to find and save his missing daughter, which he probably appreciates more than he lets on. As long as Jasper doesn’t mention being a confederate (bigoted, unjolly cooperation) to Valtr, Master of the League (and his respectable confederates of only jolly cooperation), he should be fine.

A couple days ago I was huffing bloodborne related copium while slightly over-caffeinated, as is my perogative, and I Connected some Things.

First off: Mohg, Lord of Blood. The item descriptions of his stuff imply that his Formless Mother is a) a Great One and b) the source of his blood powers.

Now, there's nothing that says anywhere that the Great Ones in Elden Ring are the same as Great Ones in Bloodborne.

However.

Who else do we know is a) the source of Magic Blood, b) Formless, and c) associated with bearing Accursed Children?

Oedon.

And iirc nothing in Bloodborne says Oedon CAN'T be a feminine/mother type entity. It's likely that Oedon is Mergo's sire and made Anneliese get pregnant but. A Formless Great One doesn't have to follow the rules of human biology.

And here's where I went off the rails:

A lot of sources suggest Oedon may have been based off of Yog-Sothoth. This is a thing you see floating around the internet from time to time and I certainly would believe that Miyazaki stuck a few nods to the Cthulhu Mythos here and there! He's done it before!

But here's the thing.

In the Dunwich Horror, Yog-Sothoth impregnates Lavinia Whateley, a human woman, who later gives birth to twins - one of whom hides his form as best he is able to and tries to live among humans until his death (after trying to steal an evil scary book but that's beside the point im trying to make)

(I'm compelled to make paranthetical tangents and the like. You understand.)

The other Whateley twin is an unseen monster who goes on a rampage after his brother is killed after having been hidden in a barn and farmhouse for 15 years. He dies trying to invoke his father and bring the Great Old Ones back.

Now.

Who else is a set of twins, one of whom tried to assimilate as best he could for as long as possible (and has a tail!), and the other either did not or could not?

Who else tried to start a new Era of the world in the name of a formless parent?

It's not 1:1, obviously, but I really really think Margott and Mohg are references to the Dunwich Horror and the Whateley twins. Which adds credence to my hypothesis that Mohg's Formless Mother and Oedon are one and the same, since they're both potentially based off of Yog-Sothoth.

I've been really obsessed with Bloodborne this past week. And The Runes!!!! The Runes hold the key to so so so soooooo many mysteries and I think we don't talk enough about them.

Soooooooooo........ Anyways because of the Runes I'm a : "The Moon Presence is a manifestation of Oedon not a separate Great One" truther!
