The fact that certain magnetic fields rendered the transporter pad almost completely useless was irritating to some people, but for Delilah it meant she got to pilot a shuttle, and that was what she loved to do.

The transporter had managed to beam the whole of the team down except for the Captain, Chekov having sworn colourfully in Russian as it point-blank refused to work, no matter what coordinates he entered. 

She had volunteered to pilot a shuttle to bring the Captain down to the surface of the planet, settling back against her seat with an indulgent smile. The Captain was in the co-pilot's seat next to her.

"We should be there in under twenty minutes, Captain."
