Yup.

I've been trying very hard to use gender neutral terms for people unless I know explicitly that they go by his/him or her/hers. I still fall into making assumptions when I'm out and about, but I definitely want to break that bad habit. Same with making comments about menstruation as "lady time" or other incorrect things like that. Lots of little bad habits that I used to not even register making but need to be fixed.

I'm sorry that you're back here but it's okay to be. it doesn't make you a failure, every step forward is progress, and just because you feel like this doesn't mean you've lost all that progress. <3

Tiny firebender Helena trying to figure out her bending and realizing that she doesn't have as easy a gras over it as she would like and moreso it's lightning so it's extra volatile and so she has always seen her lack of control over her bending as something to be punished for, something to punish herself with-- if her bending is going to be used to hurt anyone it might as well be her and that's where her scarification on her back comes from except in this AU it's like those scars that people get when they are struck by lightning-- she redirects her bending inward and and it flows through her body surging in pain giving her lichtenberg figures in the form of wings YES YES GIVE ME MORE PLS I AM ALL ABOUT FIREBENDER HELENA
