I only have time to do a few senior portrait sessions each year and I am SO glad that Makena was one of them! I love working with seniors because it is such a cool time in life. The anticipation, excitement -and a little fear - of what the future holds is a time no one ever forgets. Makena, I am sure you’ve heard all the cliché’s telling you to embrace this time and enjoy every second - but dude, it’s so true! If I can give you any small amount of advice it would be to do your best to FULLY live in the moment that you are in. Soak in every day - yes even the hard and stressful ones. Don’t get too lost in the dreams and excitement for what is coming next that you miss what is happening today. It’s something that I’m still trying to learn every day now in my 30s, but I wish I would’ve started practicing it when I was your age. There are so many tiny little awesome and beautiful moments going on all the time - even on a Wednesday :) OK, OK, enough sap. Makena, I hope you see these and are all like “dayyyyyyyum I am FIIIINE”. (That’s something we said in the 90s haha). But seriously, you were a dream to work with. I mean it when I say that you are a total natural. And could totally be a Pantene commercial model!
