In case you´re wondering how to send the photo, or if you need inspiration for the letter here´s the example with mine ;)
Remember, on June 30th we will send the letter to CN asking for GKND!
Any questions? go ahead and ask me ;)
My letter:
To Miss Christina Miller:
This is Anagaby saying “Hi” from Mexico!
I love cartoons ever since I can remember, and I enjoy them now as much as I did when I was younger. In my opinion, Cartoon Network has the best history for cartoons ever! I mean, Hannah Barbera is awesome! And the Cartoon Cartoons block was the best! Shows like “Gumball”, “Steven Universe”, “Courage, the Cowardly Dog”, “Codename: Kids Next Door”, “Dexter´s Lab”, etc. are cartoons that I will forever watch and remember.
The reason of this letter is about Codename: Kids Next Door (a.k.a. my favorite cartoon in the whole wide universe). To be more specific, I´ll talk about two points.
The first one: Asking you for KND merchandise.
And the second one: The G:KND show.
Let´s start with the KND merchandise:
I would die to go to school with a KND backpack! I would do ANYTHING for collecting Rainbow Monkeys! And who the heck wouldn´t kill for a 2X4 technology weapon toy?!?! Even the action figures look amazing! But I was to young back then to buy stuff online, and now I can´t find anything of that in Cartoon Network.
Don´t take me wrong, I OBVIOUSLY have a big KND collection in my room, but if I want something KND related, it has to be an old and used toy on e-bay, a fanmade work, or I´ve got to do it by myself! For example, all my notebooks have a KND cover, but those are made by me because I can´t find KND notebooks in stores.
Same thing with the episodes. I can´t watch KND on your channel anymore ´cause you took them away. Because I´m from Mexico, I can´t do it either on cartoonnetwork.com or buy them on itunes. Only the USA Netflix has them, so I can´t find them there either.
And don´t get me started with the version I used to watch (in my first language: Spanish) ´cause that´s IMPOSSIBLE! Some episodes, I haven´t watched them in my language ever since the show premiered it´s finale. So the only place left for me to watch my Kids Next Door are in low quality pirate web pages. Is that or nothing.
And that´s just frustrating, because I really want this cartoon to succeed, and I want to be part of the rating, but I have no other choice.
I want to watch them as a normal person: on TV, in a daily schedule (not at 6:00am as I remember they did sometimes) and not fearing they might vanish again for another eternity.
And now about the G:KND:
The Kids Next Door was left when they still had great potential, and following where it stopped will not only please fans of the old series, but introduce a quality show to a whole new generation.
I remember the games we used to play the most during recess were: Power Rangers and Kids Next Door. And let me tell you that KND was the most popular between the two of them. I don´t even know a single person who hadn´t played they were a secret operative in the KND world. THAT´S HOW BIG THE IMPACT OF THIS CARTOON LEFT IN MORE THAN ONE GENERATION (90´s and early 20´s).
And kids today would also love the KND, I mean, it´s a fantastic idea, possibly, the most creative and funny I´ve ever seen in a cartoon! I know many kids: I have cousins, some nieces, a nephew, and I used to work in Kidzania (a theme park for kids only). I´ve talked to kids, shown them old cartoons discussing about new ones to my family, and convinced some other in Kidzania to check out some others, and the ones they like the most from CN are: Kids Next Door, Power Puff Girls, and Foster´s Home. So there you go, another example: the favorite show of my 10 year old cousin is a tie between Adventure Time and KND (but she only knew KND because of me).
Maybe kids today don´t know about this show because (if for the fans of KND is hard to find) I can´t imagine children who know nothing about them. But I´m sure they´ll fall in love with it. Now this reboot is not only the characters and comedy kids fall in love with, it also adds new things for today´s generation; just imagine the visuals in the Galactic spin-off with current technology.
Once again, thank you so much for your attention. I love your channel, I still watch it, and wish you the best luck.
Sincerely, Anagaby.
