Bodiam Castle in East Sussex, England

Bodiam Castle is a 14th-century moated castle near Robertsbridge in East Sussex, England. It was built in 1385 by Sir Edward Dalyngrigge with the permission of Richard II, ostensibly to defend the area against French invasion during the Hundred Years' War.

The listing calls this 1995 home in Fayetteville, AR a fortress. I don't think I've ever seen so many solar panels, but it's "nearly" self-sufficient with upgraded security features. 5bds, 6ba, 9,994 sq ft, $1.65m. I'm getting very weird vibes from this place, like an uneasy feeling.

The grand entrance to the fortress. Right from the jump, I see a metal gate across the stairs.

This is odd. Note the swans on the fireplace. For some reason, they have a kitchenette in here.

This is the formal dining room with doors to the terrace out front.

And, there's another dining room next to the kitchen.

The kitchen has an actual office setup on the wall to the left.

Combination sun room/home gym looks like a professional physical therapy setup.

Thru a glass wall is another small sitting area.

The primary bedroom has a sitting area and fireplace. All of the bedrooms have double doors to the terraces in the front of the house.

The primary ensuite is equipped with a glass block shower, vanity table/sink combo, and a jetted tub.

This bedroom has terrace doors as well.

Actually, most of the rooms have doors to the terraces, b/c they go across both levels of the house.

Next to the laundry room there's a home office that kind of looks like a security command center with a terrace door.

There's an elevator, too.

The elevator goes down to this small family room with terrace doors. The terrace on the ground floor looks dark.

There's also a bar.

And, a guest powder room.

How many home offices do the owners need?

There's also a wine cellar down here.

And, a spacey home theater.

What is going on here? Is this a fallout shelter in the control room?

There's a bedroom down here. It has double doors to the terrace, though, no windows.

And, an ensuite shower room.

These are actually front stairs, but you can also get the idea of the view from the terraces.
