12/18 - NEWCASTLE (pt. 1: Fort Scratchley and Foreshore Walk) First of all, my hostel had hammocks and that's awesome. :) Started my single day in Newcastle at Fort Scratchley, where I learned about Newcastle's history as a military fort through the 1800s and early 1900s. From there I walked back to my hostel along the riverbank, something called the Foreshore Walk. Saw plenty of boats, from yachts to fishing boats to large transport vessels.
