LEEKS!! My first time transplanting #leeks has been a peaceful + calm experience, unlike most other #transplants. We gently separated the strong toddlers, laid them inline spaciously + covered their sturdy roots with soil, then mulched the bed with hay. Ahhhh, wonderful. Spent Grain of North Coast Brewing Co. delivered fresh to @fortunatefarm where it awaits being added to compost, mulch + top dressings. #spentgrain is the leftover malt + adjuncts after mashing has extracted most of the sugars, proteins + nutrients that make it back into the soil to grow food for people of Mendocino Coast. #northcoastbrewing #permaculture #sustainable #farming #fortunatefarm (at Fortunate Farm)
