Fortunately, my train wasn't late

Unfortunately, that's because it was cancelled

Fortunately, there were 2 others I could catch

Unfortunately, the next one was also cancelled and the one after that (which would already get me in an hour late) was delayed by half an hour

Fortunately, I'd only got to the end of my road before I realised and went home

Unfortunately, this means I missed a whole 1.5hr sociology lesson

Fortunately, I can get the notes another time

Unfortunately, it has to be before the next lesson because I have a test

Fortunately, I have a friend in the class

Unfortunately, she was going to give me back my waterbottle after I left it on the train yesterday

Fortunately, my only other lesson is last period so I don't have to be in until 2:30

Unfortunately, this means I miss the first gsa meeting

Fortunately, I don't have to suffer through 3hrs of free time waiting for my next lesson

Unfortunately, I also miss a snake being brought in at lunch

Fortunately, I should get to school in time to maybe get some henna done

Unfortunately, I seem to be having really bad luck this week so we'll see

Yeah, yeah. I KNOW. Some of you hate this prompt. Some of you love it though, too, so the rest of you can suck it for the time being.

Perhaps as a result of the polarizing feelings on this, we had a steep divide between the best and the rest this week.

So, my family just played a game of "Fortunately, Unfortunately" (basically creating a story one sentence at a time--beginning each sentence with said words). 

The story was about me and our dog Bailey. It began with her lying in my lap as I sat in my chair. We were then abducted by aliens, and to escape them, I had to use the chair as a pogo stick and tickle the aliens. They dropped us and we landed in a mattress factory far from home.

As we walked, a passing truck splashed mud on us, and then some sudden rain washed the mud off. Then a Chupacabra picked us up in a van, and took us to our house. Only... it wasn't our house! A gang of them was trying to scam us! However, they were scared off when Bailey barked at them. 

So, we walked again, cold and miserable, but much to our luck, it was Christmas Eve, and Santa Claus noticed us and picked us up. So, as we were flying... Rudolph threw up, because he drank too much eggnog. So he had to be dropped off at a sick place, and as we took off again, we found out it was foggy. So, Santa tied a flashlight onto Blitzen's head. 

Finally, he dropped me and Bailey off at home, and we went to bed. The End. 

Oh, yeah, and there was a short and terrible sequel. I don't know what it was about.

Fortunately, Unfortunately

Fortunately, Unfortunately is a little game, and I'd like to start playing it on Tumblr with you guys. 

 It's really, really simple, and anyone can join in. Here's how it works:

I start with a post describing something. The next person reblogs it and starts the next post with "Fortunately - XYZ happened (or whatever you want the story to go). The person after that reblogs it and starts their post with "Unfortunately - *put whatever you want to advance the story* "  and so on.
