Get well soon Felipe!
1) Why did I start watching F1 again
2) Why did I become emotionally invested in a driver
3) Why am I not equipped to deal with what is coming next week
4) Why can't I have faith in the future he has ahead of him
5) Why do I not take greater comfort in the simple fact that he is still with us
1) We have been drinking and the DJ didn’t play any Machine Head so FUCK ‘EM.
2) Tenacious_sd and I have put the world to rights re: Felipe, so y’all can stop with your extremely belated compliments and gossiping. #FORÇAFELIPE
Sky highlighting the points deficit between Felipe & Fernando fucked me right off SO:
Let's just break down each of Felipe's races and break down why he may have finished where he did, and why the deficit is as great as it is, as that is something pundits don't seem too keen on doing.
Australia - Good result at a bogey circuit! (Q: 4th, R: 4th) Malaysia - Incorrect strategy. (Q: 2nd, R: 5th) China - Incorrect strategy again. (Q: 5th, R: 6th) Bahrain - Two mid-race tyre failures. (Q: 6th, R: 15th) Spain - Good, maybe even better without the penalty! (Q: 6th {9th after penalty}, R: 3rd) Monaco - Mistake in FP3, suspension failure in race. (unlikely to score points anyway) (Q: {DNQ} 22nd, R: Ret) Canada - Mistake in qualifying, scraped some points. (Q: 16th, R: 8th) Britain - Another tyre failure - three being the most suffered by anyone during races this year, I believe - after an excellent start, was last for 11 laps, rallied to finish in the points (Q: 11th, R: 6th) Germany - Bizarre spin [which I still don't buy as being entirely his fault] and stall caused by gearbox failure on lap 3. (Q: 7th, R: Ret) Hungary - Minor front wing damage, car generally not good enough. (Q: 7th, R: 8th) Belgium - Failed gamble in qualifying, crowded out hugely at start. (Q: 10th, R: 7th)
I'm not writing this to make excuses for him. The results from Monaco, Canada and - so he says - Germany are on him. But I do not accept the almost constant implication lately that it's all his fault, that he's a bad driver, that he's unworthy. As he's said, the performance is there, the results are not – and now, hopefully, people will actually consider why.
"What people say, I don't care. I care for what I believe [in] and I care for what people say inside the team, in what we are working for inside the team. That is the most important thing. Outside is a lot less important than it looks like." [x]
Shruggity shrug, yo.
The true champion is one that in difficult times uses, not only their ability, but also their capacity to find deep down in their soul, psychological strength. Today, my husband has once again shown it all brilliantly. I am very proud of you as a human being and as the warrior driver that you are. May God continue to bless you. LOVE YOU
