For something more contemporary, there's David Millar’s The Racer.

Yesterday, 13 July, marked the fiftieth anniversary of the tragic death of Tom Simpson on the slopes of Mont Ventoux during the thirteenth stage of that year’s Tour de France.

To mark the anniversary, the memorial at the spot where he died has been restored.
