             She has been dealing with Zuko and Mai going back and forth between being all over each other and deciding they’re done speaking to the other for the day for WAY too long now, even if he’s just come back. Don’t ask her but it sounds  e x h a u s t i n g.  Azula could never understand the appeal and her mouth opens casually.  ❝ Truly, I have no idea what you see in my brother to be putting yourself through this. Are you two even talking today or is it another day of pretending the other doesn’t exist? I can never keep track. ❞  

             Maybe she just doesn’t care enough to keep track. There’s bigger concerns in her mind involving the fire nation and love squabbles can wait.

Even as she spoke those words to him, he tried with all his might to move and get up out of the bed. He was not one to get sick, this was the rarest of the rare for him but, he couldn’t let it slow him down. He had many things he still had to get done and he couldn’t afford to be sick. Thoughts and movements to try and find a way to get up were halted as a violent coughing fit wracked through him, leaving him wheezing in its wake once it was through.

“I’m fine.” Voice strained as ever as he spit that lie right out. He knew that there was no way she’d believe such a blatant lie like that, not after she’d seen and heard just how bad that coughing fit was. “I have many things I still need to get done, I need to get up. I’ll be perfectly fine.”
