DAILY FANDOM FILE Founders Mutation is a heartbreaking episode as it reintroduces us to William, what we lost, and the fear of what he is. We all knew Scully’s feelings were never dealt with, but we also realize Mulder thinks about his loss too.. silently and alone. While CCs plot device of dividing Mulder and Scully was not well thought out (a discussion for another day), it did allow us to glimpse the inner pain both have gone through in losing a child. 😢
