Four is very grumpy with me I took her back out on a second rescue without a full post-dive and the conditions were not great and… yeah. She’s not best pleased with me.

His hands eclipse yours; huge things, calloused from years of wear as he slips his fingers between the grooves of your own. Kylo Ren is sharp as they come - but somehow, you hold the hilt of the blade at just the right angle.
You laugh, nuzzling into his throat and pulling the blanket close.
"My favourite thing," you tell him, stroking your fingers across the planes of his collarbone, "is the freckle. Right--" and you skim it with your index finger - spare lines in poetry, just traced by surface touch - "here."
He doesn't laugh.
Never laughs; even if you feel he should. Never quite satisfies that want you have to please your Alpha: to tell him, with honest and true want, what he makes you feel.
Instead, his fingernails dig crescents into your back. Toes curl within the nest, and he presses the gentlest kiss to the side of your hair. Plush lips, calling you home.
"I love you, too."
He says it like the stars will fold onto him if he doesn't. A whisper to the universe; a wish, spoken in a secret place.
And you smile all the same.
