do any of y'all ever get to the point where like I don't think I know how to read anymore
I think I need people to bounce ideas off for my novel. Anon wasn’t completely off base. It’s just stuck in my head that I have no stakes in my current draft and it’s haunting me lol.
I’m going to try to fall in love with my manuscript today. I’ve been having a hard time writing. I think it’s just not good enough. And then I’m also dealing with stress about finding a job. If I continue to not like it, I’m going to take a break and decide what to do next week.
I just now wrote a little over 10,000 words and I feel like as long as I have been writing this fourth draft, I should have been past that amount already. But it’s fine and we’re here now. I just have to keep writing.
The never ending chapter didn’t read as bad as I thought it would. It’s pretty good.
I wrote today, y’all! And it was fun. I’m still a little off from my outline, but I feel okay with that. I’m gonna keep chugging along.
Apart from the struggle with describing people, the first day of writing went pretty well. One of the beginnings I was working on became my chapter one so I worked on chapter two. The chapter two I wrote wasn’t in the outline, but I’m planning to use the outlined chapter two as my chapter three.
For now, I plan to write at least a chapter a day. I had a pretty late start today so maybe tomorrow, I could write a little more. We’ll see. I feel ahead of schedule since my plan was to start writing in January.
I think I’ve chosen the right beginning for my novel. I’m going to take a break from it again. And if I still like it, I’m gonna continue writing on Monday, Dec. 11.
I really hope this is my last draft because I’d like to move on to other things. I’d also love to start querying and see what that process is like.
