classic me. Um it was only two weeks though right?? I think. Maybe three. the queue ran out, I don’t have many pics stacked up right now because all the ladies decided that not only did they want to molt at the same time, they also came down with the pox! And I didn’t want to embarrass them with pox-ridden photos.
In the spirit of sharing info though, birds with the pox are gonna be okay. So if you see one of your precious feathery babs looking like this, with warty-looking bumps and such -
Don’t worry! They may get it worse than that, but it is, literally, chicken pox for chickens. It’s something that’s just gotta run it’s course. As long as your birbs are still eating and doing normal birb stuff, it’s fine. BUT, it’s a good idea to check in your bird’s mouth, to see if there are any sores in there. That’s the more serious version, and CAN be a major threat to your bird’s health. The stuff on their combs, wattles, earlobes... looks no fun, but it’ll pass, and like chicken pox humans get - once the bird has had it once, they’ll not get it again.
But some of the ladies were pretty poxy and knew they looked kinda gross, so nobody wanted their pictures taken.. I’ll queue up a couple old pics, and try and get fresh stuff along soon! :’)
