I have a hard time with this job for a great many reasons, many more important than this one. But today the one that's getting me is that it makes me unhappy to see the sun rising earlier. The sun was out before I got to work. The days are getting longer! The long sad winter is coming to an end. Great news.
But it means that spring is coming. It means that my long shift, six day work weeks are around the corner. When keeping a distance between work and my personal life feels impossible. All of my free time is used towards trying to keep myself alive. And I know this is ultimately dramatic. I will be fine, because I always am. I will complain and rant and scream along to loud music on the drives home, and in a couple months it will be audit season. Which will start the cycle over.
At least this time my time is my own. I only have Pretzel to worry about. I won't need to get up early to take the dog out. I won't have to be strategic about what days I work late to make sure the car is available or the dog isn't being left alone too long. Messes will be my own.
Anyways. I need to get gas after work tonight and I have an oil change booked in the morning. I need to figure out how to talk to the mechanic about my tires and potentially ordering new ones. Although I may just do the seasonal switch for now and buy new tires next winter, not that I'll have any more money at that point. But I can be in denial about it for now, because I'm fairly sure I'll need to do my brakes at some point before the end of the year.
Halfway through the week. I took Monday and Tuesday off to recoup from what I'm sure will be an emotionally exhausting weekend. I will regret it when I come back to a stack of shit on Wednesday, but that's later me's prpblem
