Hi, Merc! I'm good, what about you?
what are some issues with the system community that could give people insecurities about their own system?
I think a lot of it is about the competitive nature of the system communities. There's constant one upping (which I've even experienced in real life with an ex friend). I do think it mostly comes down to these topics though:
System Size
There's a lot of "I don't know how large systems can even cope with that many members" and other bullshit which just shows how little people actually understand how large systems function.
For us this has caused insecurity about having too many members, which increases our baseline stress and so we end up with more members. Vicious cycle.
System Functionality
Whether it's reliance on alters, having unaccessible places in innerworld, being completely non functional except for certain alters, a lot of people aren't at all recovered so their system isn't functioning well.
Trauma Olympics
Organised abuse, programming, constantly having to reply to posts joking about trauma the poster has gone through with their "far worse and horrific trauma."
Symptom Olympics
Or, imo worse, having these huge long lists of complex disorders and they're all suspected. You won't get diagnosed (at least in the UK) with both PTSD and CPTSD, because there's so much overlap that there's very little difference in treatment. I also have an issue with people listing every disorder they have (or suspect they have) publically but that's mostly an internet safety thing.
There's a constant competition between who has worse amnesia, who has worse coping mechanisms, whose trauma is so "bad" that it makes them catatonic. Nobody cares, and I think you need to get into a place where you can actually work on this.
It's not a flex to be being actively abused.
ajax is being a killjoy, wanna play a prank on her?

@ask-rembrandt-anything
Don't worry, I got you. I wonder if anyone have never got dizzy while doing this
System travel is inherently not real. Alters can’t move from one system to another.
I was waiting for how long it'd take you to be racist. Also "alters" shows your fundamental misunderstanding of the difference between CDD plurality and other plurality.
@crossroads-system do you want to explain more about system travel? I fear I don't know as much as you do
there’s a difference between believing in multiverse theory and demanding the people around you agree and believe that your headmates actively travelled from another dimension where they had other lives and are in your head now with you through portals or whatever. i’m sorry it’s just not reasonable to ask people to believe that, even if you do. I don’t think it’s right for christians to insist other people join them in their beliefs and accept they’re literally happening either. I don’t think it’s disrespectful to religious people to think that they’re wrong lol.
You have misread my post. I am not demanding anyone believ anything. I am expressing how hurtful it is to call spirtitual people mentally ill or victims of grooming. Please reread my post.
Anyway, to answer your ask, it IS disrespectful to tell a religious person they are psychotic for believing a certain thing, it IS disrespectful to tell someone that they arent going to heaven or they wont be reincarnated.
In the same way, it IS disrespectful to say that people are delusional or HAVE BEEN GROOMED because they think their headmates come from other dimensions, it IS disrespectful to say that someone is wrong about their personal or religious experiences.
I don't care what you think. Just don't go saying it in front of people. And if you think people have been groomed into thinking things, fuck off. If you think religious people are fucking delusional or hallucinating, fuck off. (General)
