Wait what's up with foxeye? Genuine question- the only thing I got from google was makeup tutorials.... I assume it's something about asian appropriation/fetishization? Thanks for all you do- you're someone I look up to and learn from.
Foxeye is a makeup style used to make the eyes appear slimmer and squintier. White people often use it to make their eyes appear "Asian". The issue is that our race isn't their aesthetic, and it's unfair that white people can pick and choose which parts of being Asian they deem desirable and then wash off the makeup and look white again.
Actual Asian eyes look like this.
White people in foxeye look like this.
Regular white eyes generally look something like this.
So they use makeup to try and emulate the "slim almond" shape of the eye that Asian people typically have. Which is, as I said, a slap in the face to Asian people seeing as we regularly get made fun of for having "squinty tiny" eyes. Why is it fashionable on white people while being strange and ugly on us?
(It's actually gotten to the point where if you look up "asian eye" a good portion of the results will be either people in foxeye, ads for surgery to make your eyes look "more asian" (ewwwwww) or ads or makeup tips for asian people to make their eyes look "bigger and more white" (toxic eurocentrism anyone) and that's really irritating)
