Mid-day thirst!
Here are the problems I have with the BBC version of Elementary AKA Sherlock.
1. Watson is useless. Fuck that.
2. The issue of Sherlock's addiction is completely ignored.
3. Sherlock dresses like a dandy. Did they forget that he's described as 'bohemian'?
4. Irene Adler is English. READ THE FUCKING BOOKS.
5. Moriarty is not only behind 5 of the 6 episodes, but is a cartoonish parody that places himself in the spotlight-- nothing like the man in the shadows from the canon! FUCK YOU BBC! MOTHER FUCK YOU.
6. I can not handle how ableist, sexist, and racist the BBC version of SH is.
7. That scene where Sherlock mocks the grammar of an inmate. Are you kidding me? Sherlock Holmes as a precriptivist? JLM!Holmes recognizes that language evolves and he's on the front end of it as he is with all things-- looking to the future-- whereas BBC's Sherlock is lagging behind intellectually on these fronts.
8. Benedict Cumberbatch is NOT Jonny Lee Miller
9. BBC's Holmes is so cold and uncaring, which is completely non-canon.
10. This show is superfluous. Why should I wait two years for three measly episodes when I can have weekly episodes for a full season?
In summary
FUCK THIS FUCKING SHOW AND I HOPE IT DIES! Long live JLM as SH and Lucy Liu as Joan Watson!
(x for those unaware.)
