Fox smiled awkwardly. "The KND don't recruit teenagers. And....well I'm kinda afraid of space travel so no plumbers." She paused and looked at him sheepishly. "Though Providence was my first choice anyway. I've fought monsters like 10 times my size with just a sword and a blaster gun. Figure I should try and put that skill to good use. But I'd also want to work for someone who knows what they're doing. You seem to have everything under control without breaking a sweat."

“That’s a fair assessment of my tenure—”

Was he really going to fall for flattery? [ It had been a while since he was acknowledged for the work he did for Providence, but… ] “Look, kid. You really can’t be seen wearing Providence uniforms while not legally an adult.” He sighed and rubbed his temple. At least the other organizations couldn’t snap her up, but there was always the slim chance that the kid would change her mind.                                                                 [ Maybe that would be better for him. ]

“You can support Providence in other ways, like getting out of Providence’s way when my agents are taking care of a situation. Or donating… ”  Knight  paused, lofty gaze staring at the eager child in front of him. “The Dexlabs and Mandark Industries technology certainly is interesting. If Providence scientists can determine that they’re safe enough for people like you to use, then I’m sure a Providence internship program could be possible.”

"Do you do possible internships or anything," she asked eagerly.

“Aren’t the Kids Next Door taking applicants?” Or however they recruited children. “Why are you so dead set on becoming a Providence agent? Not that the zeal is bad.”

Just that  Knight  was paranoid, didn’t want any more spies in his organization, and most importantly, didn’t want a lawsuit filed against Providence when any underage agents inevitably got hurt.
