Tofu skeptics won't be able to stay away from this recipe because it's so tasty and crispy. After being marinated in a tasty mix of soy sauce, maple syrup, and fragrant spices, it is baked until it's done. This dish will make you love tofu even if you don't usually.
Ingredients: 1 block tofu, extra firm. 2 tablespoons soy sauce. 1 tablespoon maple syrup. 1 tablespoon rice vinegar. 1 tablespoon sesame oil. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1 teaspoon ginger, minced. 1 tablespoon cornstarch. 2 tablespoons water. 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, for garnish. 2 green onions, chopped, for garnish.
Instructions: Press the tofu to get rid of extra water, then cut it into cubes that are easy to eat. Soy sauce, maple syrup, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger should all be mixed together in a bowl using a whisk. Put the tofu in the mix and let it sit for at least 30 minutes. Get the oven ready by heating it up to 400F 200C. To make a slurry, mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl. Cover tofu cubes that have been marinated in the cornstarch slurry. Put the tofu on a baking sheet that has parchment paper on it. Tofu should be crispy and golden brown after 25 to 30 minutes of baking, and it should be turned over halfway through. Before serving, top with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
