How to speak like a French Young Adult
Sooo we tend to care less on grammar perfection in order to speak more quickly and everything, and here’s something that we always do:
Normally to say “there is” or “there isn’t” it’s “il y a” and “il n’y a pas”, but who has the time to say all that lol.
So we say: Y A and Y A PAS. We get rid of the “il” basically.
We say it constantly orally and a lot written, so if you want to sound French say it that way!
“y a un restaurant là bas” = there’s a restaurant there
“y a pas de viande dans cette salade hein?” = there’s no meat in this salad right?
Also: instead of “je suis”, orally we pronounce it as “chuis”
Also: instead of “je sais” we say “chais” orally
