I know everyone was big mad about Francesca stumbling over her words when meeting Michaela for the first time but I do truly believe it was necessary to get the mostly-straight audience to understand that there was something sapphic afoot. And honestly that didn't even work because I know multiple straight women who finished season 4 and had no idea that Fran and Michaela were supposed to be queer. Truly, the "they were just gal pals" sentiment is alive in 2026...
