Happy Self Care Sunday!

Winter time for me means a lot of cracked, dry, itchy skin. These are some of the products I use on a regular rotation during the dry months!

Frank Body Coffee Scrubs: not only do these leave my skin feeling silky and hydrated, but they smell sooo good. They buff my skin gently and leave me soft and glowy ✨

Palmers Skin Oil Therapy: I use this product year round, but religiously in the winter. That’s right, I by pass moisturizer for my legs and go straight for oil. This is a staple product for me as someone who is losing weight and has fluctuated since I was a teenager. I use this to keep my skin healthy and improve the appearance of any scars or stretch marks.

Palmers Firming Butter: buy this. Go to your store and put this in your basket. Thank me later. I would eat this cream if I could, it smells *chefs kiss*. This is also a product I use year round, specifically on areas I want to help keep firm if you know what I mean

Nivea Body Lotion: this is a new product to me, I’ve been using it for about a month now. It provides a slight boost in colour for your skin, which is perfect because my legs haven’t seen the sun since September.

Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream: this product is on the expensive side, so I’ll take advantage of my points on Sephora when ever I can to get my hands on this cream. I use this when I feel I want to really want to treat myself.

Nighttime Body Skincare Routine

I shower at night because I mainly work/go to uni in the afternoon so I want to get all the grime off before I go to bed (this also means my sheets stay cleaner for longer)

Exfoliator: Frank Body Peppermint Coffee Scrub

I use this scrub once a week and my skin has been soooooo soft ever since I started using it I legit feel like a baby seal. This also helped reduce the amount of acne I had on my back and it has considerably lightened the scars that were there.

The smell of the peppermint goes really well with the coffee smell (be warned it is quite a strong scent, but it’s all natural!) I also love the marketing of all of frank body’s products (people calling me babe? wholesome af)

but not on your face and near your genitals pls, it’s way to harsh for your face and you don’t want an infection

I have a lil in shower timer I use to tell me when 3 mins are up (you can use your phone, a literal clock, or just count in your head/sing a song)

Note: my shower drain can handle the coffee grounds going down it (it doesn’t get clogged for me), but please make sure that your own shower/tub can handle it! plumbing is important here

Note #2: after rinsing off, your skin will feel very moisturised, like you’ve put on lotion, some people like this (like me!) but I know some people feel like it’s an unnecessary residue so pls keep that in mind

Body Wash: Health Basics Otago Summer Fruits

I rly am obsessed with smells in the shower lol, but this has a lovely citrus scent (that manages to not smell like dishwashing liquid).

if you wash from the bottom up then any dirt/dead skin that you’ve washed off will just slide down onto skin that you’ve already cleaned

but washing from top to bottom prevents this

Lotion: The Body Shop Strawberry Body Butter

I use this body butter everyday as soon as I get out of the shower (that’s when your skin will absorb it the best). I LOVE THE SMELL SO MUCH!!!!

I do my arms/shoulders/chest + legs/feet

If you want soft feet, put a nice layer of the body butter and then put some thick wooly socks on and go to sleep, you’ll basically wake up with new feet (I consistently did this for like 2 weeks straight and i swear my feet have never looked better)
