to me, murdle was the opposite of queerbaiting. my dad bought volume 1 for me as a thing to do over the summer and I got hooked pretty quickly. I had absolutely no previous experience with it and reading it, I just kinda assumed logico would be a sort of womanizer-ish character —specifically thought he’d end up with obsidian for whatever dumb reason— until I got to the second chapter and irratino popped up and suddently shit got really fucking gay and I was absolutely caught off guard. of ALL the directions I was not expecting that one

and then I turned into a huge oxymorons freak. like everyone in here

funniest part about this (imo) is that my dad initially thought of also reading it and solving it himself before ultimately giving it to me. considering his stance on gay people I think a huge bullet was ever so narrowly missed and that’s hilarious to me

I was bored once and made a list of what apps/platforms random suspects (and the detectives) would use the most. here it goes (except it’s really just whatever came to mind first):

-logico: avid chess.com fanatic. the guy would have an ungodly rating. never misses a puzzle, has beaten (almost) every bot. also think he’d love goodreads and would go under the reviews for murdle to comment some shit like “damn crazy how this happened to me”

-irratino: also on chess.com purely because logico suggested it. plays friendly games against him and ALWAYS loses but doesn’t really mind. also I think he’d have some really random game downloaded and be insanely good at it. im talking shit like volleyball arena or something

-any of the authors: all on goodreads but for different reasons. obsidian is there just to anonymously shit on others, gainsboro is probably fighting for his life defending his book and bone is probably the only one using it correctly

-any Christian suspect: Bible app.

-superfan Smokey: LETTERBOXD NERD. logs like 7 movies a day he’s logging and reviewing like tomorrow won’t arrive. top 4 is probably just midnight movies. also would probably fight people on twitter when not logging

-midnight iii: probably also on letterboxd but purely to stalk the reviews for the studio’s movies or something

Can’t think of any others (although I’d like to do it with everyone which would hard but whatever) but I think everyone would be very gimmicky and use apps related to their jobs and stuff

OH YEAH also both pearl and obsidian are on ao3. These bitches write fanfic in their free times you cannot tell me otherwise

got a kinda big essay???rant????analysis thing I wanna write about the parallels (figuratively and literally) (hey why is “parallels” in this context basically the opposite of the actual meaning of the word parallel) (or maybe im illiterate) (AUGH FOCUS sorry ignore this) between volume 1 chapter 3 and volume 2 chapter 3 but im too scare to like.
