So basically over the past year I have gone back to basics with my magical study. From that I have actually started to actually practice a lot of what I read. Twenty years of collecting books while posturing as a magician but doing very little in the way of practice is not good magic. Plus it has consequence. And cost.
At some point earlier in the year I decided I was going to begin the Invocation of My Daimon. This began with Liber Null, from which I then stumbled upon Maat Magick. This coupled with beginning a Diploma in Tarot.
From this it seems I stumbled back into the work of Stephen Edred Flowers. In particular his study of ancient Persian/Iranian magic Original Magic. Flowers is apparently a controversial figure. No doubt due to his forays during his personal Norse and Satanic periods. The fruit of these periods is still worth investigating. As is his study in Hermetic Magic.
Original Magic however has blown me away. Here is a literal day to day curriculum of initiation with sufficient resources within the book. However one is encouraged to supplant and support this material as part of one's studies and practice.
To the best of my knowledge I married up the month of September with a Persian calendar. Within said calendar each day is given an angel or more exactly someone who is worthy of worship. I can tell you that just doing this alone and reflecting on each day's spirit has brought about significant changes. I feel healthier, happier and more hopeful with each passing day within this paradigm.
Tomorrow is dedicated to our higher self, our Daimon, our Holy Guardian Angel. Our Fravashi.
I think I'm doing quite well in finding mine and hope you do too.
