Do you think freed takes laxus on or against his desk?

I think it depends on their mood. Sometimes they both want some hot and rough sex, so then it’s basically against everything they can - be it desk, kitchen counter, wall (mind you, Freed is hella strong, he can manage) whatever floats their boat, really.

Then sometimes of course it’s on the desk, too. Aaaand on everything they can… Because why not, variety is good. I strongly believe that they covered every place possible in the house. Besides it’s hard to make to the bedroom sometimes, especially when they haven’t seen one another for some time or haven’t had the opportunity to be intimate (Laxus solo missions, some challenging Laxus + Raijinshuu missions etc.)

Last but not least, the bedroom, glorious bedroom and bed! The holy ground of slow love-making, slow and sweet morning sex. And some rougher actions as well :P

Headcanon time:

Freed is the one who has more experience in actual relationships with other people (in general, not only romantic), he knows how to talk to people and form bonds. He knows how to smooth talk, how to charm. He knows how to impress.

While Laxus on the other hand, is extremely awkward with people, it's hard for him to get to know others (I'm pretty sure it's actually canon btw). One-night stands acceptable (in my head - before Freed of course; mainly because those mentions in manga of Laxus and his...women he mentioned just once, but I don’t think there ever were any) but nothing which includes extensive relations.
