A Kind-of Date || Yoochun x Fei
Yoochun combed his fingers through his hair as he walked to Fei's tent. He didn't understand why he was so nervous. It wasn't as if he'd never been alone with Fei before. Heck, he'd already seen her naked. If he'd lived through that, surely he wasn't in any danger of making an absolute fool of himself fully clothed. Of course, deep down, he knew what drove this nervousness. Sure he'd seen Fei naked, but in the hot springs,there hadn't been any assumptions; they were two friends who were sharing a bath, letting go of some of the weight on their shoulders, and trying to relax a little--that was all.
Today, he was basically on his way to pick up Fei for a date, and that was terrifying. Did she consider it a date, too? Did he even consider it a date? Did she even like him that way? He figured it was best to just not think about it.
Yoochun ran his fingers through his hair again before deciding it was better to tie it up. His hair often had a messy sort of look to it, but somehow he felt it was messier than usual and just didn't look nice. He scoffed at himself. Really, he was so pathetic, primping like this. He tugged on his grey overcoat, and glanced down at his shirt, somehow having second thoughts about the knit sweater and black shirt he'd donned underneath it even though he took so much time choosing them in the first place. Was he showing too much skin? But his collarbones were one of his better features. And the salmon pants, were they too flashy? At least the taupe boots were okay. You couldn't go wrong with taupe boots. He furrowed his brow and bolstered his resolve. It was too late to go back now.
The long metal wolf's chain he'd gotten from him--Changmin, he forced himself to acknowledge, because even though his friend was no longer there, he'd still been an important part of his life and it wasn't fair to forget that--hung from his neck next to the lightning bolt necklace he'd received for his birthday. He couldn't bear to leave it; though it brought up some painful memories, it still meant a lot to him. Besides, it was a useful tool for more easily conducting electricity, and it would have been silly to leave it behind. And, he thought with a small smile, maybe it could take on another meaning alongside the other, a newer meaning, a meaning with fewer bitter memories around it. After all, Fei had Jiao and An. The necklace was as much a symbol of perhaps the most important person in his life right now as it was a memory of who had once been the most important.
He weaved through a few tents, finally arriving at Fei's. He was about to call out his presence when a thought struck him. Should he have brought a flower or some other gift? No, that would have been silly, considering this wasn't formally a date. And yet, he couldn't help but feel that he should have. He bit the inside of his cheek. It wasn't as if he could find something right now. They were in the middle of a forest and winter had only just ended. The only thing he'd be able to find-and that was if he was lucky--would be some buds. He sighed. So be it. He'd just have to be empty-handed.
"Fei?" He called into the tent, not willing to walk in unexpectedly and have a repeat of their trip to the hot spring (though he wouldn't exactly be complaining if he got to see Fei's unclothed form again, as sleazy as he knew that made him sound). "Are you ready to go?"
