Heart to Heart (J'adore) || Jiyoon & Jimin

"I adore you."

Jimin looked up from the lock he had been picking with, his eyes moving to the girl sitting next to him on his right, a smile spreading slowly on his lips as wisps of her blonde hair danced in the breeze the warm air carried.

Warmth crept up into his cheeks as his gaze broke from hers, a small laugh bubbling from him as his arm extended out between the two of them, his  palm open and out and ready for her to take.

"I adore you too Jiyoonie"

Anxiety rushed through her veins and chilled her spine as she watched his face for any expression. It always worried her to tell others what they meant to her for the fear of nothing being mutual, even if she merely wished to pursue a casual friendship. And when a laugh pushed between his smiling lips, Jiyoon only felt more nervous.

Why was he laughing? Was he laughing at her words? Was it so ridiculous for her to adore him? Did he find it humorous of her to feel so affectionately? Her foot began apprehensively tapping on the ground as a single hand gripped the corner of the large, wooden storage box she sat upon. Jiyoon forced out a small laugh to match his as another string of mental inquires pestered her.

Once Jimin finally replied, however, the petite blonde breathed out a relieved sigh as discreetly as she could.

"I'm glad," she said back to him, anticipation still built up within her chest. She tossed a grin on that would hopefully pass herself off as completely satisfied with his answer, and she should have been. Jiyoon had no reasonable room for doubt; the best excuse she could give was paranoia, and that would just make her out to be insane. 

She eased out of the tight grip her hand maintained on the wood, ignoring the splinters that pricked her finger tips. Using her other hand she touched Jimin's palm with her own, gaining a light grip on his hand and gently shaking it before letting go. That was what he wanted, right? Jiyoon was clueless in regards of any other reason to hold a hand out other than to shake it.

I'll protect you with my life

An icy chill pricked at her spine once Jimin’s words were registered. She kept herself from thinking it over too deeply. The last thing Jiyoon wanted to do was to embarrass herself by taking likely joking statements as serious promises. There was also the factor of her not caring to become unintentionally invested in someone emotionally, no matter what kind of relationship the other shared with her. 

Instead of responding seriously, the blonde threw on a small grin and forced out an awkward giggle. 

"You’re so funny, Jimin-ssi."

im trying to flirt with you ok?

Crossing his arms over his chest and cocking a hip to the side, Chen allowed all the curiosity and condescendance in the world to mold against his features. Trying to flirt, huh? The poor boy surely had overheard Chen practicing for his next event, surely had confused what the siren call made him feel with actual emotions.

"Are you, now?" he scoffed, an eyebrow arching in disbelief on his forehead, disappearing behind his bangs. "I think you’re mistaken about me, kid." How could he put it any more nicely? Truth was, he didn’t even want to bother being nice to someone he didn’t know, to someone who was only one of the many who got caught in his voice’s magical web.

"Anyway, I’m not really interested." And he would be lying if he said he was.

"Storm is coming."

Jimin turned his face in the direction the voice had come from, the snow white cloth drawn across his eyes blinding him to who it was speaking to him.  The locking mechanism he had been toying with fell from his hand as he lost the count he had in his head the second the person had spoken.“Rats” he said with a puff of his cheeks. He had been trying to slash his own personal record for this particular lock from one minute to just 30 seconds and he had been at it for the better part of the morning. You would think that keeping his count would have been easy but it wasn’t because it wasn’t just about the lock. It was about him working the lock, disengaging  it twice as fast as he ever done to get to the other locks that imprisoned him while also keeping a mental count of how long he had been upside down, how long he had been suspended from the top of the platform, how far down he had begun to slip, how much closer he was to the quicksand in the clear plexi glass case that could be his tomb if he messed this up ALL while fighting his own body’s desire to react to this ever increasing precarious situation by going intangible. It was all these things at once and he had been at it for half the morning, his mind and body were tired… of course he would lose his focus at an additional voice besides his own.He tightened the muscles of his abdomen, sitting up to work the locks of his hands free before he slipped the cloth off his eyes to see just who it was who had broken his concentration.Changmin sunbae. He didn’t recall ever having spoken to him before but he had seen him around in the days following him joining the circus. Jimin was still new so he hadn’t had a whole lot of chances to talk to people… he spent most of his time practicing and polishing his act for his debut stage, which would be soon and he didn’t want to disappoint.What had he said? Something about rain?Jimin looked to the sky and noticed a small gathering of clouds off in the distance and now that Changmin had mentioned it, he could smell the coming downpour in the warmth of the air around them. He didn’t know why but for Jimin, the smell of rain had always been a comfort to him.“Thanks for letting me know” Jimin said with a weak smile he almost couldn’t muster as he worked to undo each of the locks that held him tapped in his trick. He hoped Changmin wouldn’t think him rude for his lackluster response… it was just that Jimin had been going non- stop since this morning and now that he HAD stopped he could feel the headache pouring into his mind like water released from a damn, punishment  no doubt, for him pushing himself so hard. He would have to meditate longer today and maybe a little kitty cat nap would help. He hopped down from the device and went to work , readying his props for storage, his body moving without his usual pep  with this headache plateauing at the base of his skull. Jimin could keep going…. And had before… but he didn’t want his headache to turn into a full blown migraine or worse…. Pass out like he used to when he first began to flex his ability and his endurance.“Do you need anything from me hyung?”

"You are adorable."

"Really?" Jimin said with a small chuckle "No one has ever told me that before"

He laughed at his own private joke, reaching out a hand to the boy who looked to be about his age. “My name is Jimin by the way…. nice to meet you…..” he left off the sentence, hoping the boy would fill in the blank with his name.

"Are you new around here like me?" Jimin asked "Or have you come to check out the new people…. like me XD"

"Can I kiss you?"

Jimins mind went blank as the words fell softly from the lips of the blonde nymph before him.

She…. wanted to kiss HIM?

Jimin was struck dumb for a moment, positively unsure if he had heard her right. God he hoped he did. He PRAYED he did. For Jimin…. time had utterly stopped.

He had never been kissed before.

It had always seemed like something both pleasant and powerful when he saw it in a movie or read it in a book. Like a summer rain turning to a storm… it could be done multiple ways and have multiple meanings…. and he wanted to know what this girls kiss would be like.

He cleared his throat and looked up at her with the slightest bit of uncertainty

"Are…. you sure you want to?"

"Storm is coming."

Jimin looked to Yoochun quzically as Yoochun spoke the ominous words a slight chill running up his back as they settled in him like sand on the ocean floor.

"Dont get on the plane" Jimin replied.

Yoochun lowered his eyes, focusing them on Jimin in confusion.

"Im sorry" Jimin said with a smirk "I couldnt help it. It was the only thing I could think of you know? Offer an equally creepy and ominous reply in turn".

Yoochun did only continued to look as Jimin slowly calmed his chuckles like a school boy in church caught playing during the service. He puffed out his cheeks ever so slightly and looked to the sky, the clouds clear and bright as ever.

"Are you sure hyung" Jimin asked "The sky looks fine to me".
