Can this creature actually exist? Oh yes. It’s a blunt-headed burrowing frog (Glyphoglossus molossus), which is native to Southeast Asia.
What in the world are these creatures? They are solenodons, one of the few mammals with venomous saliva. Freaky and fascinating, right?
KYAAAAAAAAA!!!!
Halloween approaches!
Say hello to the sarcastic fringehead, Neoclinus blanchardi.
By opening its huge jaws and stretching out flaps of skin, the fish makes itself appear larger than it actually is.
The jaws are larger in males, which they use in intimidating displays to defend territory, guard eggs, and in rival bouts with other males (the responsibilities of being a manly-man, right?).
These guys can be found off the coast of California, residing in burrows, empty bottles, vacated shells, or under rocks.
Although they can be aggressive and intimidating, sarcastic fringeheads usually grow to only about 1 foot in length, so you are in no danger.

This creatures sex life is actual 'hit and miss'. It doesn't move and is a hermaphrodite.
Everyone is like "oh! sloths are so cool! just look! isn't it adorable!" AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO IS PRETTY SURE THEY'RE JUST BIDING THEIR TIME BEFORE THEY COME FOR US?!?!?!?!?
Dolphins scare the living daylights out of me.
