So I don't know if people have asked you this before, but how do the different woofs deal with strangers? Are most of them guarded or does it vary from pup to pup? (Love your blog by the way. Seeing your puppers really perks me up when I'm having a crappy day, so thank you!)

Aww thanks! They vary. Outside the house they’re more wary, inside most will happily pummel you and woo at you. Kiba doesn’t like strangers one bit no matter what, Luka is ambivalent, and the rest will mostly love on you :)

I DID misunderstand! I'll talk to my friend and see if she has a dog she's fostering or caring for at work who needs a home! Do you have any size or breed requirements?

Nothing too big - something 40 lbs or smaller would be perfect, but we’re definitely willing to be flexible on that a bit for the right dog. We would also prefer a girl dog, just because I have generally liked their dispositions better (I’ve had dogs before), but again we can be flexible. Breed is not so important to us as trainability, though we’d prefer not to have a pit bull because we don’t feel we’d be the right kind of family to know how to deal with that breed’s particular needs.

Most important is that the dog be cat-friendly and kid-friendly (or a puppy of a breed that can learn to be both those things) because we have two cats and one 5-year-old little boy.

I know somebody who could probably foster the pupper for awhile and also works for the Iowa Human Society--lives in Ankeny, though!

Oh, no, you misunderstand. I’m looking to adopt a dog for my family, so I’m wondering if anyone knows someone needing to find a home for a puppy or a young dog. And Ankeny’s not far from Des Moines. I’d be willing to drive out there for a dog if you know anyone looking to re-home one.
