Sad-Eyed Lady of the Lowlands
In 1976 as a 16 year old, I decided that we (the collective) needed more holidays. So, I invented Fred Day (July 2), the middle of the calendar year. If New Year's Day is a time of reflection and goal setting, then perhaps today should be as well. (As if everyday shouldn't be). In '76 I used it as an excuse to buy Bob Dylan's "Blonde on Blonde," still one of the greatest albums I own. It was a double album and cost four hours of work at Wendy's. Have a joyous day, think about where you are and where you are going. Listen to Sad-eyed Lady of the Lowlands all the way through. Happy Fred Day.
Fred Weasley II Moodboard
Today marks two years with my human. We've been together through a bunch of changes, but I like to think I've remained pretty much the same.
That one Girls Day at the beach with Izzy, Alice, GG and Fred.
"Of course you can come with us Freddie .”
“But you said you were having a girls day Izzy and maybe I’m not the hulking muscle that James is, but I’m definitely a guy. I don’t mind just hanging out till the guys are back.”
“Nope Frederick you are coming with us and we’re gonna have way more fun than those boys and post it on that Snapchat thing you and Ally talk about.”
“Okay GG fine I’m coming and uh you know I love you guys, but could you at least try to get my name right?”
“Yea we love you too Fredward.”
Taken by a kind passerby
So I said Fred Day was happening and even though it’s 7:30 it is still happening because I promised and I don”t like breaking promises. So here we go!

Fred Day
Today is the mid point of the calendar year: the same number of days are left as have already passed. When I was 16, I made up a holiday for this day called Fred Day. Have a happy Fred Day. Take care of yourself, so you can take care of others.
