Fredagsmys

When Friday comes and it is cold outside, there is nothing better than fredagsmys.

Fredag is Friday but mys is a word that just does not exist in English, and the Swedes are proud of it. It is a mix of comfort and coziness. Relaxation and somewhat guilty pleasure.

The classic formula for fredagsmys includes, but it is not limited to, potato chips, Swedish tacos, godis (candy), lots of candles and maybe a movie. And of course some comfy clothes.

The Swedes love all things “mysigt”.

Small Myslexicon:

Mysigt = something that is mys

Fredagsmys = mys fridays

Att mysa = to mys

Åh, vad mysigt! = oh, how mysigt!

Det var mysigt = it was mysigt

December 15th: Fredagsmys (literal translation: Friday Cozy, means having a nice time with doing whatever you want, watch tv, be with friends, no physical activity, just hugs and snacks. You can also be alone having a nice time with yourself. Snacks.) Green tea, Carrot, Pineapple (Pineapple and sugar), strawberry, blue malva, sunflower. A very light and subtle tea.
