a shrill screech filled the air, blue flames shooting into the sky in a flurry. the beast was pressed into the ground with cords holding all of his limbs together in a vice grip, tangled in wire & thorns---a trap. his tail was clamped in another trap, an oversize bear trap.

the large spikes stabbed into his burnt leathery skin, pulling & plucking. softly, dabi started to whine to himself, knowing he couldn’t pull it anymore without coming out worse. so... this was it, huh? well, he never was destined for greatness. only fitting he would end up with his skull in some dragon hunter’s lair. he sighed through his nose, closed his eyes, & let his head rest on the ground. waiting.
