Freed & Guildmates Headcanon

Since I can't write fanfiction anymore here are some headcanons I have on Freed's relationship with other wizards (which by the way was about what I wanted to write):

Erza and Levy: they both admire him, respect him and at the same time have a kind of rivalry with him. Since they are all captains of three different teams, they often find themselves praising their team as if it were the best. All three are very competitive in calling themselves the strongest/smartest team and can argue for hours about how their teammates are the best (but they can also argue for hours about how their teammates are the worst if they have a bad day, sometimes they just want to complain about their annoying teammates and have someone who understands them, and Erza and Levy understand Freed very well)

Cana: Cana and Freed don't get along. Like, not at all. Freed thinks Cana is annoying and immature, Cana thinks Freed is serious and boring. Cana likes to tease Freed and annoy him, Freed can't stand her. Until one day they found themselves doing a job together, and even though they argued the whole time, they were able to see the more responsible/funnier sides of the other. They aren't friends yet, and probably never will be, but at least they tolerate each other now.

Makarov: Makarov knows that Freed is one of the most responsible guys in the guild. He also knows that it doesn't take much to be one of the most responsible guys in the guild. So he knows that Freed is just another brat who thinks he can get around his rules without Makarov noticing. Has he noticed how Freed circumvented the "you may not enter the library" rule by sending someone else for him to get a book he shouldn't have, he knows that he circumvented the "do not use forbidden spells" rule by using forbidden potions or items (which Freed is keen to point out, are different than spells), he knows that when he told him to "don't let Laxus skip the guildmaster meeting" Freed simply canceled the meeting. He knows it and that's why every time Freed thinks he's smarter than him, Makarov gives him one of those punches that he usually reserves for Natsu. (Bickslow always laughs when that happens).

Lahar: Connecting to what I wrote above, Lahar hates Freed. He hates him from the bottom of his heart, because Freed should be in prison. He knows it, Freed knows it, and Freed knows Lahar knows it. Every time something happens and Lahar tries and fails to put him behind bars, Freed gives him that annoying smirk and Lahar just wants to smash his face.

Mirajane: Mirajane and Freed are besties. They spend their days together cooking, working out, going around the shops, relaxing together and talking a lot. Mirajane is also one of the few who saw the awkward side of Freed when he tried to approach guildmates and be nice to them, without much success.

Juvia and Gajeel: Ok I have this idea that the Raijinshuu and Gajeel and Juvia get along really well and often take missions together. It wasn't right away (or rather, between Freed and Gajeel at the beginning there was a sort of rivalry due to their character differences), but when they began to understand each other, they are like a sort of extended team. Gajeel and Freed often argue, but Juvia always manages to calm his friend, and Juvia and Freed talk for hours about their favorite novels (look, Freed likes romance novels, Juvia does too, it's their not-so-secret secret because even Gajeel knows this and makes fun of them). Gajeel and Freed often train together, simply because they tease each other and Gajeel is one of the few (besides Bickslow) that Freed gets dragged into acting like an idiot. He never denies him a challenge (Natsu is pissed at Gajeel for this).

Laki: When Freed tried to get close to his guildmates after the battle of Fantasia, he had a lot of difficulties. He couldn't bond with anyone but Mirajane, he found everyone annoying and immature even though he tried not to act conceited, and surprisingly, Laki was the first girl he bonded with. He saw her torture chamber and was fascinated by it, they talked for hours, and now whenever Laki creates a new lethal weapon, Freed is the first one she tells. He's always happy to go to her house, he considers it a place of peace (the other guildmates are just disturbed by the fact).

Cobra: Freed is one of the few that Cobra's ability doesn't bother too much. Even if his thoughts are different from what he says (Freed always speaks formally but inwardly curses almost every time someone talks to him), he doesn't feel threatened. Cobra is instead only very amused to hear the contradiction between what Freed says and what he thinks. They get along.

Ichiya: Freed will never admit it even under torture, but he actually respects Ichiya. He still thinks he's weird, overly dramatic, and overly attached to frivolous things, but he respects him. He recognizes Ichiya’s leadership, strength, and socialization skills. Nobody knows that (and no one will ever know)

Bickslow and Evergreen: they are partners in crime. This isn't even a headcanon, it's just canon. They go from being the menacing team who can scare away the strongest wizards, to being three besties who spend hours doing their hair.
