‘before you say anything,’ bobbi began, arching a brow pointedly, lips quirked behind a wine glass. ‘under this dress i’ve got a pair of batons and a gun, so choose your words wisely.’ despite the brash tone, she finally looked at them properly, offsetting the manner of her words with a friendly smile. ‘oh, relax. i’m just kidding.’

Teon wasn’t usually allowed out for parties. The fact he sniffed people- sometimes their butts- ate all the food, and started fights usually ended up with him getting in trouble. But he was with Hope, never very far away from her, and he’d already lost the suit jacket and tie, his shirt unbuttoned. “Eat?” He asked, staring around at the various canapes and drinks being handed around. “... mate?”

              of course, she had been looking forward to tonight. one night where everybody could just be themselves. mutant and proud. still, a part of her couldn’t help but think about how it could be if it wasn’t only for one night, but living in peace instead, without wasting any thought on whether or not anyone would find out.   ❛ mutant and proud. it’s a shame it can’t be like that every day, isn’t it? ❜
