The real FREEDOM is freedom from FEAR. What do you find in common with all these pictures? Smiling faces. These are young men and women being arrested by the criminal Israeli forces in the illegally-occupied land of Palestine. The Israeli state is guilty of international war crimes and crimes against humanity, having stolen huge swathes of territory from its indigenous inhabitants and displaced millions, while installing an apartheid state to ensure the continued subjugation and suppression of its people. In spite of all of that though, look at those beautiful smiling faces. Do you know what those smiles communicate? Those smiles communicate radiant and robust health: a healthy psyche, a settled soul, free from the shackles of fear, intimidation, and even resentment. Those smiles express the beauty and truth of their heartful standing up for a just cause. And that is why these people will never be defeated. They may bend. They may bow. But they will never break... because though the Palestinians may be outwardly oppressed, they are inwardly free from the shackles and shadows of fear and cowardice. And so their oppressors will never rest. “The robbed that smiles, steals something from the thief.” William Shakespeare The Palestinian people may be living in an apartheid state but they live in the lush meadows of virtue and contentment. They let their smiles change the world, and not the world to change their smiles. They are the truly free and the Israelis are those who have oppressed their souls, in the inner dungeons of abject fear and despair. We stand firmly with the Palestinian people and their cause, and we ask Allah to aid them with a mighty victory that brings freedom and sweet justice to our dear brothers and sisters in the Holy Land. And as I always say, do not let them scatter us. Individually and collectively, we are WHOLE. We are ONE. Don’t let them scatter you. Don’t let them scatter us. To be free is to be whole.

“A freedom restrained the sun shall invoke,
The gift from the plea a mother spoke,
Purpose shall be bestowed upon your life,
In form of one you should have called wife,
A lover presumed dead shall be back,
Now shall you truly pay for your attack.”
Ever since the fortune teller had spilt these words, Loki’s life was thrown into a hurricane. He had dared to hope that after the attack on New York and the following arrest, things would get better, but these words seemed to point in an opposite direction.
Things would never remain the same, for better or worse.
Free as we are...
