Was doing some mobile recording for a bluegrass band in a motel in the South end of Seattle, when my laptop fan gave up the ghost!  In a mad panic to dump all the tracks onto an external hard drive, I connected a keyboard, mouse, and external monitor and put the laptop in the freezer! Worked so well, that i not only got the tracks backed up, we continued to record for three more days like this! Mac Guyver would be proud!

My iPhone is dying on me...

Everything else is working properly except two things: Reception is bad and my Wi-Fi connection is testing my patience. My solution? The freezer trick.

After many hours of consulting the Internet for a quick fix, I saw message boards and threads testifying the effectiveness of the freezer trick. I was unsure of this stunt, though, at first. I mean, come on, the idea of putting your phone inside a freezer sounds ridiculous, isn't it? I wasn't entirely ready for my iPhone totally conking out on me yet. Imagine, death by ice cubes!

Anyway, I finally gave in to the idea after rebooting my device, toggling the airplane mode, and resetting its network settings countless times. I wrapped my iPhone in three sheets of paper towels and shoved it inside the freezer for a couple of minutes.

With much anticipation, I took it out of the freezer, peeled off the towels, wiped off the excess moisture, and turned it on. Lo and behold, the freezer trick worked! Not only has my device recognized my wireless connection, it has also improved my phone's reception.

So happy that my iPhone's working again. I love my freezer. Crazy but true.

P.S. I hope the trick fixes my baby's problems permanently or else... bye-bye iPhone.
