I’m still in highschool and i’m planning to go on testosterone next summer, but recently I’ve thinking about freezing my eggs so i can have biological kids. Do i have to put on hold going on T to freeze my eggs if can i go on T, then later go freeze them.
the best plan is to freeze your eggs before you go on T, because there’s no guarantee that you won’t permanently lose fertility once you start it. (it’s definitely not something that happens to everyone, but it is a risk that is non-zero). Here’s a post we made about the process of egg donation, and the process of extracting eggs is the same regardless of where the eggs go after (frozen for you, implanted in someone else).
At a minimum, if you start now, you will absolutely have to stop taking T, start a series of hormones to ripen the eggs, and then if it’s successful, harvest them.

Yale University anthropology and international affairs professor Marcia Inhorn and her team surveyed 150 U.S. and Israeli women who’d opted to freeze their eggs between June 2014 and August 2016.
