hello hello! i promised to post some notes & talk about my progress!

so we are now moving onto days of the weeks and our schedules, which has been really interesting. i’m kinda struggling to keep up but i think it’s because i’m so used to spanish that i get jumbled up on which words belong to which language and also how to pronounce certain words because they look similar to the spanish translation if not the exact same.

French 101: Endearment

Native French speaker here!

I've wanted to do this for a while. I've seen some similar posts about Russian lying around, and... well, I felt like I could contribute. With French.

Without any more delay, here are some of Chris' favourite words (probably)!

mon amour (my love, gender neutral): The most classical (and a bit sappy) form of endearment. Mostly used by married couples.

mon chéri (my beloved, m); ma chérie (f): This one is more widespread, and fits in most situations. Without the possessive adjective (mon/ma), it takes a meaning closer to "babe" or "dear".

ma jolie/ma belle (cutie or beautiful, f): Said to women in multiple situations, even if there's no endearment involved. Chris would definitely say that.

This list is by no means exhaustive. I couldn't think of anything more, but don't hesitate to ask if something wasn't covered here!

Day 2/100 First day of my last day of undergrad!!! Just had French 101, this is the just for fun class as the rest of my classes are for my major. So far enjoying this class and just rewrote the class notes. Still a little messy but it will do :). And sorry for the reflection on my iPad, I'm on the second floor of the campus dining area.
